Monthly prices are a weighted average with the number of days in which the weekly price is valid within the reference month.
Forwarding it must always be considered that each weekly survey, published on Tuesday, refers to the prices valid from Monday to Sunday of the previous week.
For example for Gasoline Euro-Super 95 in January 2022:
The average monthly price is obtained by multiplying the average weekly price by the number of days in which the price is valid, then making the sum and finally dividing by the total number of days of the reference month (for January they are 31):
Prices | Days | Prices weighted with days |
---|---|---|
1723.06 | 2 | 3446.12 |
1733.40 | 7 | 12133.8 |
1754.31 | 7 | 12280.17 |
1778.64 | 7 | 12450.48 |
1796.72 | 7 | 12577.04 |
1819.32 | 1 | 1819.32 |
The monthly average price is therefore: (3446.12+12133.8+12280.17+12450.48+12577.04+1819.32) / 31 = 1764.73967742
Conventionally, it is rounded to the second decimal place: 1764.74 Euros per 1000 liters of Gasoline Euro-Super 95.
The average values of Excise and VAT are calculated based on the number of days in which they take on a certain value within the reference month. So in case of change during the month the value will be a weighted average with the number of days and not the absolute value at the end of the month.
The net price, on the other hand, is always calculated by difference.
